This is my first pretty minimalist apartment. ⁣ This is my first pretty minimalist apartment.
⁣
TW: mental health 😉
⁣
It was in Nuremberg and I lived next to a crackhead and a drunk pharmacist. The drunk pharmacist sometimes opened my mail, because he didn't check the addresses on his less sober days, and the mail man just always dumped the parcels in his pharmacy. In the basement, there was this Chinese takeout "restaurant". It wasn't really a restaurant, more like a tiny little corner with one chair, and it was the stinkiest place I have ever been in—and I've been in an OR when a patient's small intestine blew up. (I was tired and very hungry. Also a bit curious...)
⁣
Anayway, my place was pretty #minimalist. I had basically no furniture, although later my mom brought me a chair and a little desk, which I got rid of pretty fast... And I also got a desk after half a year, because I could not work on my laptop on the floor all the time (and I don't recommend that to anyone, because it can take do a real number on the neck curvature of your spine, which is really really bad.)
⁣
However, my habit of getting rid of things actually almost got me into a little bit of "trouble". I frequently put up these flyers to sell my stuff everywhere. And one of my teachers in nursing school found one (we had like a bulletin board for that), took me aside, and asked me whether I had mental problems…
⁣
I was like: LOL WHUT?!
WHAAAAT?
WAIT...
⁣
A student had killed herself ~ 20 years ago, and gotten rid of all her things in advance. My teacher was super concerned and it was really sweet and sad. Also, that was the first time I ever had to explain "my minimalism" to anyone.
⁣
🙈 Like, if you want to hear more weird anecdotes from my life. Let me know what your first moment of explaining was in the comments!

My favorite LAME EXCUSES not to do yoga and how to My favorite LAME EXCUSES not to do yoga and how to tackle them 🧘‍♀️
⁣
Collab with Chloe chloe_peace_72 → Check out her part of this list ☯️ She's a yoga teacher and she has a lot of inspiration and tips on her site.
⁣
EVEN AFTER 15 YEARS OF YOGA…
⁣
…I still have these phases. I call them "yoga ruts". Then I just don't want to move an inch. I feel so busy, so caught up in "life", I just forget about it. Especially because yoga is an everyday thing for me. It is just as casual to let it slide.
⁣
None of the above are good reasons. They are all lame excuses. And I hear them quite often from other people, especially after class. In my first yoga class, me and one(!) other person were the only ones who practiced more than just during lessons. And that's very common.
⁣
We "don't have time". Yeah, sure.
⁣
We're all healthy though until we aren't.
⁣
I mean, come on. I have a kid, I have a job, I run a YouTube channel, I write 3 books on the side, I design my merch, I record my own music for my videos, I film them, cut them and write a blog article for each of them, I code my own CSS and HTML, I write my own copy. NOTHING of my whole online business is outsourced. NOT ONE PIECE. DO YOU THINK I HAVE "TIME" FOR YOGA?
⁣
I do 40 min to 1.5 hours of yoga every day. Or at least 5/7 days. (<40 min just doesn't cut it for me, and I truly believe that the real benefits start sky-rocketing once you go over that limit.)
⁣
I HAVE TIME FOR YOGA.
⁣
Because I make time. If I don't, I might just as well stop doing everything else. After a few weeks without yoga, my anxiety, stress level ans tight muscles start killing me.
⁣
And even if you have none of these issues... just wait, sista (or brother). You will get there. We all get there. No one stays healthy forever, and boy, did I regret my dumb ignorant young arrogance once I grew up. In some cases, sooner is always better. Yoga is one of them.

My current READS & RECOMMENDATIONS: ⁣ 1. Siegel/ My current READS & RECOMMENDATIONS:
⁣
1. Siegel/Payne Bryson "The Whole-Brain Child"
2. Tsabary "The Conscious Parent"
3. Niel "Save te Bees!" (Sauvons les abeilles!)
⁣
THE WHOLE-BRAIN CHILD
⁣
I've been reading this for as long as I have my kid now. But a good time to start reading this book would be around 15 months. When kids start to understand "reasoning" better.
⁣
It's a very helpful books for all parents, if not the most helpful one. Moreover, it also helps you better connect with yourself. So basically a recipe on how to not f_ck up your kids, even if you're damaged goods yourself 😁
⁣
THE CONSCIOUS PARENT
⁣
I am not done reading this. It's a difficult read for me, because it's so full of pathos. I was kind of over that in 1800… 😜 It is very cuddly, warm, full of heavy adjectives... I have a hard time reading it without rolling my eyes. But I want to give it a try.
⁣
It comes highly recommended by "The Parenting Junkie" parentingjunkie.
⁣
SAUVONS LES ABEILLES
⁣
This is only available in French, but maybe something fro my French, Tunesian, French-Canadian friends?
⁣
I like this book, because it is very practical. Spring is the time to prepare doing more for the bees wherever you can. And I want to do that. It is a very informative and hands-on book and I can definitely recommend it.
⁣

⁣
I got these books as a paper version, because I am often very tired in the evening and my reader gives me a headache sometimes. I like to be able to touch a book while reading it. And I like the idea of having something not too delicate to just throw under my pillow.
⁣
I love reading before going to sleep... can't decide what's better, reading or meditating…?!

What's your favorite food? 🍲 ⁣ This is my 2nd What's your favorite food? 🍲
⁣
This is my 2nd fav warm dinner. In some countries in Europe, it is very common to eat warm dinner. But not in Germany. In Germany, we call it "Abendbrot" = "evening bread". And that is because we usually just eat bread. Very minimal.
⁣
GERMAN "ABENDBROT"… NOT EVEN TACOS 😱
⁣
Most of us eat warm during the day, and cold in the evening (and breakfast). But I don't like it. I like to eat warm in the evening. Why? Bc France, people. France. My imaginary second home, if I could choose, but I cant 😢 The country of "we don't work until we die"—opposing to Germany's work ethic be like "If you don't die while working, you haven't worked hard enough".
⁣
FRANCE IS WHERE THE BAR IS
⁣
France, the country that has food figured out. That's the ideal I have in mind. Not Germany. Germans are doing it wrooong. I mean, come on, eatin' cold after a stressful work day, lmao, who had that idea? A dictator? 🙊
⁣
Side note: I do dinner cancelling though every once in a while. And I also don't have breakfast bc of intermittent fasting (which is really really awesome).
⁣
SO, WARM DINNER IS THE REAL DEAL *IMO*
⁣
Warm dinner, my friends, that's the real sh_t. In France, most restaurants even just open in the evening. And they are so right! I mean, what do you have to live for, if you get warm lunch at work already? 😅
⁣
Nonononono.
⁣
Anyway, that's just one woman's opinion. I don't want to keep you from your 30 min break hustle food by any means. Enjoy your "meal" 😁🌭🍔🍟🍕🍜
⁣
And if you want the "recipe" (goat cheese - throw in the pan - fry - pour vinaigrette over it), pls comment 🌿, I've blabbed so much in the caption, I can't fit it in.Also, I'd really like to hear your vegan alternatives to goat cream cheese.
⁣
If you want more German food / rants / recipes / my favorite foods, pls comment a broccoli: 🥦

Some decluttering insights from a former crazy pen Some decluttering insights from a former crazy pen lady...
⁣
I don't know what you guys want to declutter. But I have definitely accumulated some things. Minimalism, yeah. Just not in the "paper drawer".
⁣
The reason might also be that I need some tools for drawing. So, one part of me wants it all gone. And the other will be pretty angry once she decides to paint something and the fancy Japanese pencil is gone. So, no.
⁣
Hobbies come first. Before minimalism. And I don't choose my hobbies after my minimalist preferences. At least not all the time... Maybe 50/50... ;-D
⁣
Anyway, hope this stuff inspires you. What are you getting rid of today? Is there anything left??? :^)
