Flauschi on Ice! She introduced herself to the oth Flauschi on Ice! She introduced herself to the other kids as "ice kitty" lol, how cute is that??

Skating lesson was not too much yesterday, as it was a big costume party, and so we will go to the Olympic Arena tomorrow and the day after.

Flauschi is really crazy about #figureskating. I asked about 5× if she really wants to go on both days. I think she would go to the rink everyday, if I would take her.

I also joined the club, because I think it's too lame for me to hand my kid off to a coach and stand on the sidelines. It's not just not for me. I rather make a fool of myself. Also, maybe we can take the exam together next year, how cool would that be??

Also, I don't want to end up as a fragile 60-something one day. Too many women in my family have suffered that fate. I want to die a muscular bada**. Or at least try to hehe.

Anyway, Flauschi really adores it so far. She wants to do difficult stuff but first has to learn to skate clean and slide on one blade better.

I think it's also a good thing that she learns routine and discipline as something rewarding and positive and not a threat, drill or stress. (For that, we have the German school system, lol). You can really see how her mood goes through the roof once she's on the ice. Like the look kids get when they see a bubble bath, you know?

How again is it "zero" waste to replace all your o How again is it "zero" waste to replace all your old tupperware with fancy jars?

Even super-zw friends of mine have at some point succumbed to this trend, and I'm no excuse. Mostly, because I wanted something pretty before 40. NGL, that's how it is. I like the aesthetic. But...

I still think that there are dumb extremes really nobody f*cking needs. Like switching out ALL of your pantry. Dude, wtf? I mean, and then what? Then you got a sh*tton of nice-looking jars, and what exactly do you do when your favorite jar company goes out of business and one or two break, huh? I think that's really just stupid.

Better buy the ones you like when you do, and stay consistent in style, not in brand. At least, that's what I do. Who wants to see our collection? 😛

SCIENCE OF MINIMALISM · I need your help, guys :- SCIENCE OF MINIMALISM · I need your help, guys 🙂

I always wanted to use my platform to unite two of my interests: Data science and minimalism. And learn something.

That's why I made a survey and I would love if you could help me create a BROAD and LARGE sample, so that it becomes more representative.

I would also like to include the results in my book & YouTube, so we can all benefit from the insights.

There are a few publications on minimalism, and this is just a first survey to see where it is going data-wise. I will share everything I learn from this on my platforms and I have the hunch that it is going to be pretty interesting.

So, if you want to be part of it → check the link in my bio and take the survey (it's not long at all, promise!)

And if you could share it to your story or feed, that would be so awesome! The post can be shared with the little paper plane button, or just take a screenshot of the info post and tag me. I'd really love if this sample could be as big as possible.

Please don't participate twice! If you've seen this on YouTube already, don't retake it. But other than that, it does not matter if you're a hoarder or extreme minimalist. It really is for everyone and I'd love for as many people as possible to participate, so share with whoever you like please and THANK YOU SO MUCH!

:))

My inner conflict about minimalism: If you didn' My inner conflict about minimalism:

If you didn't know: I don't watch any kind of minimalism content anymore. Maybe 2-3 small creators on YouTube, and a few that I personally have messaged with on IG. Otherwise: I've had ~20 years of minimalism. There is almost no inspiration in it for me. The reason I even follow people is: They're from different places in the world and have interesting personalities. Here are two I want to give a shoutout to!

Siberia Inside (YouTube)
Intentional Living Space (YouTube & IG intentional_living_space)

I think they're perspective is quite unique and interesting. Anyway, here is my struggle with minimalism content, which is directly related to why I don't watch any of it (but I make some, cause I'm a hypocrite lulz)

IT'S ALL F*CKING THE SAME.

Every minimalist channel has these videos: my capsule wardrobe, room tour, what I eat in a day "as a minimalist" ← wtf does that have to do with anything? I'm pretty sure minimalists have the same distribution of favorite foods as the rest of society, maybe a few more vegans. Who cares? Obviously a lot of people do… one of my best videos!

Oh, and then there are the tips videos. Love-hate them. Tips just keep the viewers hooked. You don't want to miss tip number 7, that's a good one! Better stick around til the end, you never know, right? They're awesome for viewer retention. YouTube loves them. But that's the sh*t, folks. That is the sh*t.

At this point, you're making videos for the algorithm and not out of the pure joy of sharing content. If you love tips videos and lists and advice, great for you! But me, I feel just like the biggest stiffest lame Karen when I do this. Doesn't feel right. Catering to the algo never does.

Anyway, there's a whole bunch of new minimalism articles (one called "MINIMALISM IS STUPID" muaha) on my blog, if you want to support my ad revenue. Otherwise, have a nice day! Hope you stick around. And if you want to see some genuinely nice people, check out the two creators from above!

Hair struggle ended, lol. Not sure if I'm brave en Hair struggle ended, lol. Not sure if I'm brave enough to share this…

Actually filmed a full video in this… Not sure if I'm confident enough to share it though, cause a lot of my YT followers seem to hate it when I'm quirky and dressed up all "unnatural"… But I actually find a lot of "natural" minimalists on the interweb pretty boring, myself included. I used to be this indie chick that wore makeup everyday, and not your average stuff, no, I liked some colorful sh_t.

(It's understood that it's perfectly fine to go for the "boring" look and that the perception of boring is obviously individual, right?)

Anyway, I seem to have somehow morphed into this tired mom figure, I find myself wearing puffy vests in dark colors on top of sweaters, and on a Friday night I long for a beer on the couch and dull entertainment, not for company and intellectual debates. Or even better than a beer on the couch: sleep in my bed. The brain f_ck about this is that I actually don't even think I am missing out on anything. I wasn't a big socialite at any point in my life. But it still feels like I'm missing out on on being myself somehow.

Also, speaking of looks and wigs and how you feel about yourself: I am sooo not part of this whole body positivity thing, esp. when it comes to this weird understanding that having your pubic hair grow or not using deodorant is somehow the same as feminist activism. Dude! I let that sh_t grow because I'm lazy, not because I care about a new toilet for each and every of 2022's 50 new different gender labels. If you ask me, we all start going on the same sh_t house and it's dealt with. (And since when is it cool to call yourself an "activist" if all you actively do is rant and click on buttons?)

Anyway, here is my fancy little violet wig. You like it? =) It was totally inspired by michelle_mcdaniel and her styles. I really like her videos–and wigs! And I always stayed away from wigs because it was just so "fake" to me. But is it really? Is it more fake than clothes or makeup or jewelry?
